The Condo Clean Up Act of 2018 Passed... Now Let's Get it Signed Into Law!

CAN has good news to report, the Florida legislature has passed House Bill 841, also known as the "Condo Clean Up Act of 2018". By passing this bill the condominium associations will now have better direction in what they are required to do and what information they are supposed to provide in their websites. As you know, last year it became mandatory for condominium associations of 150 units or more to maintain a website. However that law created many questions, which have now been answered. This new law clarifies the budget and financial documentation that is required to be accessible through the website. As an aside, please remember the statutory deadline to have these websites in effect is July 1, 2018.

But our job isn't over yet! We need your help to encourage Governor Scott to sign HB 841 into law. For more information on how you can contact Governor Scott, go to https://www.flgov.com/contact-gov-scott/

Thank you to all of our members for your efforts in reaching out to members of the legislature. You spoke and they listened. CAN also sends a huge thank you to the bill sponsors, Representative George Moraitis and Senators Kathleen Passidomo and Debbie Mayfield for their tireless work on behalf of Florida's managed communities. Their leadership was essential in getting HB 841 through the legislature this session.
