Bio

Alan Garfinkel is the Founder of Garfinkel Whynot, P.A. and has practiced continuously from the same building in Central Florida for more than 25 years. Alan was awarded the most  prestigious "AV Preeminent" rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Representing one of the most significant accomplishments a lawyer may obtain. The AV Rating is determined by lawyers and judges who selected Alan to the top 1% of all lawyers. AV rated lawyers attained the "Highest Level of Professional Excellence and Highest level of Ethical Standards."  Alan was admitted into "The Million Dollar Advocates Forum" by winning Million and Multi-Million Dollar verdicts and or settlements for his clients. He was named a "Super Lawyer" by Thomson Reuters’ publication and received a “Superb” rating from AVVO.  In January 2015, Alan was elected President of the Community Association Institute (CAI) Central Florida. Also in 2015,  Alan was named one of the "Best Attorneys of America."​ He is listed in the 2010-2016 Bar Register of "Preeminent Lawyers." Alan was named to the 2012 "Florida Legal Elite"​ by Florida Trend Magazine and received the Top Orlando Lawyer Award between 2010-2016. Alan is Chairman of the Community Advocacy Network (CAN), representing millions who live, serve and work in common interest communities. He has published many scholarly articles  and served on the HarrisMartin Publishing Insurance Faculty. Alan is considered one of the leading experts in the country on Natural Disaster Law and Insurance Property Damage Recovery, specializing in recovering monies for community associations.

Specialties: Numerous media outlets such as CNN, NBC, FOX News, ABC, Newsweek, Orlando Sentinel, Miami Herald, St. Pete Times, Houston Chronicle, El Sentinel, and Telemundo sought Alan's legal expertise.  For 10 yrs, Alan served as the legal expert/moderator for LexisNexis, hosting more than 100 national webinars on hurricane related property damage insurance recovery and insurance claims assistance.
